Cesar Carvalho

Cesar Carvalho is the CEO of Gympass, a complete corporate wellbeing platform that he co-founded in 2012, reinventing wellbeing, making it universal, engaging and accessible. With Gympass, employees have one membership with unlimited ways to feel good. With over 50,000 fitness partners, 1,300 on demand classes, 2,000 hours of meditation, 1,000 healthy recipes, weekly 1:1 therapy sessions, and hundreds of personal trainers, Gympass supports every wellbeing journey, partnering with best in class wellbeing providers in across North America, Latin America, and Europe.

Gympass was born out of a problem Cesar had while he was working as a consultant at McKinsey & Company back in 2011. He was constantly traveling to new cities for project assignments and had trouble finding a local fitness option that wasn’t expensive or time-consuming to access. Based out of Gympass’ headquarters in New York, Carvalho oversees worldwide operations implementing the company’s overall strategy.

Originally hailing from Minas Gerais in Brazil, Cesar has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Universidade de São Paulo and attended Harvard Business School before founding Gympass, following more than ten years of business management experience under his belt, including time working at CVC, McKinsey & Company and AC Nielsen.

Cesar has also won a number of awards in his role as CEO, including Comparably naming him as one of the ‘Top-33 large companies CEOs in 2020’ and one of the ‘Top 25 Best CEOs for Diversity and for Women’ in 2021.
