Thiago has over 19 years of international investing experience in Venture Capital and Private Equity.
Thiago is a Partner at Igah Ventures responsible for the end-to-end investment execution and portfolio company monitoring, as well as fundraising, positioning, and recruiting initiatives. Igah Ventures is a pioneer in Brazil’s Venture Capital space, with 3 fund raised and deployed over 10 years, and since 2022 Igah is part of Patria Investments, the largest alternative investment platform in Latin America.
Since joining the firm in 2017, Thiago invested in 15 companies across Latin America alongside blue chip investors such as General Atlantic, Goldman Sachs, TPG, Softbank and Riverwood. Thiago also positioned Igah one of the first investors in startups that became industry leaders, including Avenue Securities, Conexa Saúde, CRM&Bônus, Ambar and Logcomex.
Having served at over 10 boards, Thiago has built a solid track record of working directly with portfolio companies’ mgmt. teams to tackle a wide array of challenges, from setting up international operations to closing landmark acquisitions to recruiting co-founders and C-level team members.
Prior to joining Igah, Thiago spent 9 years as a Private Equity investor, having worked at TPG Capital and TPG Growth, Kinea Investimentos and AIG Investments in Brazil, in addition to completed internships at Equity International in Chicago and at GIC in New York.
Thiago is a member of the Kauffman Fellows, the most prestigious network of Venture Capital investors, over 800 members across 55+ countries representing 650+ managers, including references of the Venture Capital space such as Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins and Andreessen Horowitz.
Thiago holds an MBA with Honors from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and holds a B.B.A. from prestigious Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV-EAESP) in São Paulo, Brazil.
Thiago is an avid traveler, having visited over 80 countries so far - in addition to his native Portuguese, Thiago is fluent in English and conversational in French and Spanish.
